Alyeska Resort celebrates the great Alaskan outdoors and rich cultural heritage of the region throughout the year with our signature events. With an abundance of outdoor activities, Alyeska is the perfect backdrop for weekend festivities. From family-friendly events such as the Blueberry Festival to rowdy good times at Oktoberfest, visitors can combine adventures inspired by Mother Nature with a full calendar of Alyeska Resort events.


Summer

Fiddlehead Music Festival (June 1 & 2, 2013)
This weekend features fiddle-pickin' great music. Join us for a celebration of the fiddlehead fern season and summer music in the mountains!  This family-oriented outdoors event features live music, local arts and crafts booths, beer and wine garden, kid's activities and more!

Blueberry Festival (August 10 & 11, 2013)
A celebration of the lush blueberry season, this family-oriented outdoors event features over two dozen arts & crafts booths in The Hotel Alyeska Pond Courtyard, as well as live music and all the blueberry concoctions you can try. Blueberry picking and eating is encouraged; find your own secret stash.

Fungus Fair (August 30 to September 1, 2013)
Just in time for prime mushroom picking season, Fungus Fair is a multi-faceted weekend of forays, naturalist presentations, outdoor concert, culminating with a Fabulous Fungus Formal featuring multi-courses showcasing local fungus treasures. The event benefits the Turnagain Arm Health Clinic.

Alyeska Climbathon (September 14, 2013)
Challenge your vertical capacity while climbing for a cause. Run or hike the North Face Trail, with friends and family, while raising money to help end womens cancers. Set on the North Face Trail (2.2 miles top to bottom with 2,000 vertical elevation gain), competitors head up the trail and download on the Aerial Tram for nine hours. The winner is the one who logs the most laps in the given timeframe. 

Oktoberfest (2 Weekends! October 4 - 6 & October 11 - 13, 2013)
Autumn would not be the same without a festive atmosphere celebrating the many attributes of beer. Both weekends include authentic German fare, souvenir mugs, polka band plue live music by some of Alaska's favorite bands.

Halloween (November 1 & 2, 2013)
Alyeska offers spooky fun for all ages over Halloween weekend. On Thursday, October 31 the Kids' Carnival in the Daylodge is a safe and warm way for children to celebrate. On Saturday, November 2, in partnership with the Alaska Railroad, the Alyeska Mystery Train is scheduled for a mid-afternoon departure from Anchorage to the haunted Hotel Alyeska. This special event train features a buffet dinner at The Hotel Alyeska and one-way train ride from Anchorage to Girdwood with return by coach bus the next day. The late-night entertainment is scheduled for the Alyeska Daylodge where the resort is hosting its popular Halloween Concert featuring Funky Hippeez on Friday and Fly Guy on Saturday. 

Winter

Spring Carnival (April 11 - 13, 2014)
With one of the longest ski seasons in North America, Alyeska Resort embraces spring in typical Alaskan fashion. Spring Carnival takes advantage of the long days with extended hours of lift operations, great spring-skiing conditions, and Alyeska’s largest and most popular winter event, Taco Bell Slush Cup, where competitors dressed in zany costumes attempt to skim across a 90-foot long pool of freezing water. Other activities include the KWHL Costume Party, Idiot Swim, Dummy Downhill, XTRATUF Pull Tug-of-War,  live music, and more!
